We want to see local distinctiveness, landscape and historic landscape character assessed, maintained and enhanced in all Local Development Framework core strategies and other local plans, including plans at parish level, such as village appraisals and conservation area plans, across the South West.
We also want to ensure tranquillity and dark skies are maintained and enhanced. Click here for further information on Intrusion, Light Pollution and Tranquillity in the South West, including maps. For full information on CPRE's intrusion, tranquillity and light pollution mapping nationally see http://www.cpre.org.uk.
In 2010 Paul Bryan compiled information for us on all the local landscape and historic landscape character studies in the South West, under a Vodafone Foundation award. See http://worldofdifference.vodafone.co.uk/uk/paul-bryan/
